The Aerospace Corporation is hiringa 2023 Communication Systems and Signal Processing Intern for an opportunity in El Segundo, California.Job SummaryMain-mission communication satellites, wideband links, command and telemetry, and terrestrial networks, along with their enabling technologies, are the domain of the Communication Technologies and Engineering Division. The division comprises all aspects, from architectures to implementation; our engineers work directly with corporate customers to ensure robust and resilient communications.The Communication Systems Engineering Department (CSED) performs analysis, simulation, and laboratory activities to design and evaluate communication systems, signals, and signal processing algorithms for our customers. Interns will work closely with experienced technical staff to execute projects in communication systems and signal processing that help us shape the future of communication in national security space systems.Work ModelThis position will be located 100% onsite in El Segundo, California.What You'll Be Doing Apply academic knowledge to practical tasks in digital communication systems engineering under supervision and guidance. Simulate and analyze satellite communication systems. Use MATLAB or Python to simulate mathematical algorithms or evaluate system performance. Conduct analysis and present technical findings to team members and customers. Work closely with an interdisciplinary team. Sophomore class standing completed by internship start date. Demonstrated mastery of engineering, mathematical, and scientific fundamentals consistent with your education to date. Experience programming in MATLAB, Python, C++, or another language. Minimum GPA of 3.0 This position requires the ability to obtainand maintaina security clearance;which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
