Job Description:
Job Summary:
The Academic Program Specialist is responsible for providing
support across many areas of the School of Music, including
academic programs, operational procedures, performance logistics,
and other functions as needed.
Duties & Essential Job Functions:
1. Serves as point person for the main School of Music office
in Ed Landreth Hall by responding to general inquiries, visitors,
and phone calls and forwarding to the appropriate
office/person.
2. Supports the Assistant Director of Operations by maintaining
departmental inventory records, including instruments, equipment,
keys, and technology.
3. Supports Assistant Director of Operations by assisting with
website edits, updates, and coordinating e-mail
communications.
4. Supports Assistant Director of Academic & Student Programs
by assisting with advising holds, permission number process,
communications, and electronic academic form processing and record
keeping.
5. Coordinates record keeping and processes with College of
Education Teacher Certification.
6. Updates Undergraduate and Graduate Catalogs based upon proposals
and council outcomes.
7. Collaborates closely with TCU School of Music staff and faculty
on concerts, events, and special projects.
8. Monitors event expenses by gathering and reporting budget
information; facilitating and monitoring invoices and purchase
orders, reconciling expenditures.
9. Manages student office staff, including undergraduate and
graduate students; determine schedule and duties, including ushers,
front-, and back-of-house.
10. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience :
• Bachelors’ degree and 2 plus years’ program coordination
experience.
OR
• High school diploma or GED and 6 plus years’ program coordination
experience.

decisions regarding daily activities.

Physical Requirements (With or Without

Work Environment:
• Work is indoors and sedentary and is subject to schedule
changes and/or variable work hours.
