Description Robert Half is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant with terrific organizational skills to take up a long-term contract / temporary to hire position at a growing company. The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will hold responsibility over many aspects of internal reporting. You will assist with the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, review schedules for the reporting processes, and work alongside our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. A highly involved position, it works to produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. What you get to do every single day
Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner
Participate in various initiatives spanning multiple departments
Organize capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Aid in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Manage the design and creation of balance sheet analysis and communicate reports to management
Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed
Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Keep up fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Conduct month end close, journal entries, without supervision Requirements - Critical thinking skills and the ability to retain complex work directions
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Accounts Receivable (AR) experience
Microsoft Excel experience preferred
Comprehensive knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)
Demonstrated knowledge of Expense Projections
QuickBooks experience
Adeptness in Financial Projections
Deep understanding of general ledger
Skilled with ERP systems
Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
High attention to detail
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Vow to meet business deadlines
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
