Green Lake School-Age Program (GLSA) is a state licensed, nonprofit, social emotional learning program rooted in nonviolent communication, dedicated to creating meaningful relationships with children, and to working in partnership with families to help raise empathetic, socially aware, happy, and emotionally intelligent individuals.

GLSA's after school program engages children ages 5 - 12 in fun, community-oriented activities organized around themes, indoor and outdoor activities and play.
_We are within walking distance from Green Lake Park, and we take full advantage of our neighborhood playground._
We provide paid training : social emotional coaching, non-violent communication, and career development in early education and school-age programs. We also reimburse for all training costs and job requirements.
_This part-time teaching position starts at 22 hours a week, with the opportunity for more hours, and career growth. We also have substitute teaching positions available, which offer a flexible schedule. _
This is a great position for future teachers, early childhood educators, child and family therapists, and social workers, OR anyone who believes they can make a difference in children's lives!
Responsibilities
Lead FUN recreational and educational activities through play, games, and, movement, STEAM, reading, and explorations. Plan and implement monthly curriculum and schedule of activities with a cohort of experienced teachers. Create egaging daily experiences aligned with children's ages, backgrounds, and interests. Facilitate conflict negotiation using social emotional coaching and nonviolent communication skill building. Provide opportunities to meet the social emotional, physical, and cognitive needs of the children in our program. Be part of an awesome team, and maintain a safe, healthy, and positive environment for children, families and staff. Perform first aid and take care of injuries, as needed. Set up and maintain equipment. Keep accurate observations incident logs and documentation. Be available: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 2PM - 6PM & Monday, Wednesday 1PM - 6pm, as well as a handful of 8 hour days during school breaks, and professional development training. _More flexible substitute positions also available_.
Skills
Experience working with children, including responsible decision-making. A love for children. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Reliable schedule. Cleared background check ( PAID by GLSA ). Current CPR and 1st Aid certification or complete upon hiring ( PAID by GLSA ). Documentation of a negative TB test, once hired ( GLSA reimburses the fees associated with the TB test administration and reading ). Willingness to wear a mask depending on Washington State Department of Health COVID guidelines and GLSA policy. Energetic and positive personality. BA or working toward a BA preferred, but not required.
Starting Pay Range: $18.75 - $25.00 DOE, with bonuses upon each program completion (2 programs per year)
