Are you someone that loves Environmental Science and have a passion for Air Quality? We have an opening for an Air Quality Monitoring Specialist. This position works daily in the analysis of Sarasota County's Air Quality as well as in the assessment and remediation of Sarasota's soil and Groundwater resources at Petroleum Contaminated Sites. It's an extremely satisfying position that allows the incumbent to see real-world impacts from their work in the Environmental Sciences as they work to protect Sarasota County's resources for future generations.
Job Description:
? Checks all records and data collected from the ambient air monitoring network according to official SOP's to assure compliance with the State Quality Assurance Plan, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) guidelines, and the Code of Federal Regulations.
Performs audits by the state and EPA on equipment.
Maintains correspondence with the state and other agencies for quality assurance updates.
Maintains the equipment inventory records. Initiates recommends, and procures equipment necessary to operate the air monitoring analyzers.
Coordinates the processing of POs payment of vendor invoices, purchasing card transactions, and other procurement-related tasks
Updates and manages the air monitoring computerized database on a daily basis.
Monthly Air Monitoring data verification and validation.
Performs or coordinates the AQI daily release.
Works with Environmental Consultants in the assessment and remediation of Petroleum Contaminated Sites, creating scopes of work, and verifying payment for work performed.
Work Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
About You
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in one of the biological or physical sciences, Environmental Engineering, or a related field and three (3) years experience of professional experience
Master's degree may substitute for one year of professional experience
Progressively responsible professional experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required college degree

Pay Range: $51,542.40 - $64,500.00 based on experience
