Our client that operates in the Union Welfare, Benefit and Health Fund industry within the Insurance Carriers sector has an immediate need for a Assistant Claims Manager. The company offers competitive compensation, merit increase upon meeting goals after six months, comprehensive benefits and career path opportunities.

Duties include managing day-to-day claims operations, including claims evaluation, adjudication, analysis, auditing and customer service, in accordance with quality and production standards. Ensures that claims are processed in a timely manner in compliance with company policies and applicable regulations, concerning the processing of claims. Assists in managing department staff of Claims Examiners for performance, HIPAA Compliance, following company policies and attendance requirements. Maintains good, professional working relationship with superiors, peers, subordinates and other department managers and personnel.


1. 4 year degree preferred, 2 years of college is required, or an equivalent of management/supervisory experience and a minimum of two years current experience processing medical and dental claims on-line.

2. Must be familiar with medical terminology, R.V.S., C.P.T., I.C.D.A., Diagnosis Codes (ICD-9 & ICD-10), and H.C.P.C.S. codes.

3. Must be able to re-calculate claims; performing (sometimes complicated) calculations, applying formulas using multiplication and percentages.

4. Must become competent in the use of company and applicable Carrier's computer systems (currently Anthem Blue Cross).
