Working independently, the Project Manager for Clinical Supply Innovation will manage supply chain initiatives, projects and/or business development efforts of any type, either pipeline project specific (drug / vaccine / biologics development) or medicinal product agnostic, related to the development, commercialization, and the marketing and commercial operations of new medicinal products. The objective of the role is to manage digital and innovation projects across the company stakeholders and divisions, and with external partners, to drive tangible value for the clinical supply chain.

The incumbent will be managing projects and initiatives of varying complexity, priority and/or involvement with internal and external collaborative partners. The activities need to be aligned and prioritized with the corporate strategy and the internal (amongst others related to Clinical Supply, Pharmaceutical Development, Quality, Regulatory, Commercial Operations, Clinical Trial Operations) and external partners (including colleges, universities, industry forums, governmental and non-governmental organizations).

In addition to managing projects, following activities can be considered: 

  • Establish and maintain a roadmap for clinical supply innovations and environmentally sustainable smart solutions for specific innovation projects

  • Establish and maintain project specific Clinical Supply Innovation coordination frameworks

  • Ensure the development and life-cycle management of financial business cases for prioritized clinical supply innovation initiatives and projects, including timelines, ROI and NPVs, supported by the relevant Functional Business areas, Finance, IT and Procurement

  • Ensure clear and aligned objectives are established, and performance is monitored

  • Ensure governance is in place for review-meetings with functional leaders

  • Coordinate key meetings for innovation projects and initiatives

  • Coordinate external and internal visits and develop agendas

  • Ensure that best project management practices are being employed across projects

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific, business, or related discipline required, MS/MBA preferred

  • 5+ years’or relevant experience in industry with experience in planning, scheduling, coordination and processing innovative projects technologies

  • Experience and knowledge of initiating and driving new projects and/or innovations, including new technologies and digital solutions, in industry or universities, colleges.

  • Experience with external engagement with e.g. colleges, universities, industry forums, governmental and/or non-governmental organizations

  • Excellent oral (including presentation) and written communication and publication skills

  • Strong Project Management, and computer/database management skills

Preferred Experience and Skills:  

  • Experience and/or understanding of pharmaceutical business of Research & Development, Manufacturing, Marketing and Commercial Operations of new medicinal products.

  • Strong negotiation and influencing ability within and outside the function

  • Experience with digital data systems, digital workflows, and digital platforms and processes

  • Strong collaboration skills

  • Working with courage and candor, with willingness to speak up

  • Ability to make rapid disciplined decisions and to prioritize work

  • Ability to distil large quantities of complex information into simple messages; and to assess and provide recommendations

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently

  • Demonstrated ability to manage resources, time, and budget effectively for given projects and initiatives, being business savvy and results oriented

  • Well-developed and effective team facilitation - able to establish cooperative team environments.

  • Proven ability to analyze, integrate, recommend, contribute to development of conceptual plans for (and lead implementation of) strategic processes and change initiatives cross-functionally.
