Job Description:
Serve as the lead academic advisor for several MBA cohorts. He/She
tracks student degree status, facilitates changes in student status
and communicates these changes to stakeholders. He/she acts as the
point of contact for Professional and Full-Time MBA students with
academic issues or concerns.
Meet with MBA students to create a student success profile and
academic plan. The success profile includes the student’s
strengths, opportunities for growth, factors that contribute to or
detract from academic success. The academic plan aligns courses in
the MBA curriculum with academic, personal and professional goals.
Monitor student progress and academic performance across the
Professional and Full-Time MBA program. Identify and communicate
concerns with academic progress and develop a plan to successfully
correct academic issues. Track students with customized academic
plans. Process paperwork related to specialized curriculum
including combined and joint degree programs. Communicate
experiential learning opportunities and elective course offerings
to students and collect registration requests to update academic
plans. Provide feedback and student insights to the entire MBA team
for use in course selection and curriculum changes, academic
progress reporting, as well as professional development and career
readiness programming.
The Assistant Director oversees course registration and grade
collection for all MBA courses and coordinating communication with
students, MBA, and department staff and faculty when necessary to
ensure timely completion of these tasks. Serve as the point of
contact for special registration requests from students outside of
the Warrington College of Business.
The Assistant Director supports Professional and Full-Time
Orientation and helps staff weekend events in both Gainesville and
remotely at our South Florida facility.
Through direct supervision of support staff member, the Assistant
Director oversees course material needs, including digital course
materials, course packets, software, applications, etc. for MBA
faculty to assist in ordering those materials and distribute to
students.
Expected Salary:
$57,000 - $63,000 Commensurate with experience.
Minimum Requirements:
Master’s degree in appropriate area of specialization and two years
of appropriate experience or a bachelor’s degree in appropriate
areas of specialization and four years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ideal candidates will have strong written and verbal communication
skills and be highly organized. Comfort and experience with both
virtual and live presentations preferred. Experience working in
academic administration and previous collaboration with academic
personnel.
