Bartender Date Created 10/1/2020 Reports to: General Manager Assistant General Manager Hourly/Non Exempt/Tipped Position Overview- A Tavern In The Square bartender is responsible for providing exceptional guest service by exceeding expectations, Making genuine connections, serving alcohol safely and responsibly, guiding the guest through our menu, craft cocktails, and extensive beer list. Ensuring to execute the 7 steps of service and inviting the guest to return. Fosters teamwork behind the bar and ensures all guests are having an exceptional experience, through incredible guest service. Create repeat guests Qualifications • High School or equivalent • Previous experience in hourly positions in bars/restaurants. • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills • Strength in guest service • Ability to handle cash effectively and responsibly • Must enjoy working with people including co workers and guests • Must be able to work a flexible schedule have availability including days, nights, weekends and holidays. • Able to receive constructive feedback for development • Able to free pour and jigger • Must be able to lift 50 lbs • Certification in alcohol awareness program • Reliable transportation. • 3 shifts per week minimum • Ability to work on feet for long periods of time • Propper work attire required per Tavern In The Square Standards Maintain a professional image at all times • Knowledge with POS, Aloha Tavern In The Square Bartender Duties & Responsibilities Daily Shift responsibilities • Responsible for cutting fruit for day to meet pars, ensuring beer liquor and wine is fully stocked for each shift • Maintain a positive attitude • Answering all calls using the Tavern In The Square Host training standards • Bar cleanliness and resets kept above Tavern standards • Make all guests feel welcome and always be visible and available to guests and exceed expectations • Always get a manager when there is a problem • Educated in menu, craft cocktails, and all beers, and able to speak to it and serves alcohol responsibly • Positive role model to all team members. Uphold a cohesive environment for all team members • Assist the training of all team members as needed/requested. • Pour testing daily • Attend pre-meal and present Spec and Review for the week • Serve hot food/drink HOT and cold food/drink COLD. • Communicates ALL allergies to the FOH manager • Organization of keg room and liquor room • Daily delivery organization and Assist with inventory practices Re stock bar, glasses, silverware, ice and dishes through shift and at the end. Clean bottles, floors, mats and bartops, no fruit flies Thanking Guests & Repeat Guests • Consistently treat all guests in a positive manor when interacting • Appreciate every guest and thank them while always inviting them to return • Responds to guest comments and feedback by getting help from managers when needed • Practices safe alcohol service and serves responsibly • Treat all guests like they are vip Bartender Communication, Professionalism, & Initiative • Be respectful and friendly to all Guests, Team members and Managers • Report any issues to managers • Organized and clean bar from the guest perspective • Maintain a safe and sanitary area for guests. • Treat all Team Members with respect. • Be professional with all guest and team member interactions in and out of work • Recognize and act on personal areas of development. • Represents his/herself in a positive light through professional interactions • Follows all Tavern In The Square procedures when speaking with guests in person • Responds promptly to requests by superiors. • Utilizes open door policy with management Bartender Teamwork Support and Cleanliness • Help team members where needed and treat respectfully and kind • Get involved in community and charity events when store participates • Utilize social media by company guidelines to promote brand • Sweep any food or debris on floors • Keep bar clean neat and organized by Tavern In The Square standards • View your bar from the eyes of the guest • Recognize fellow team members in need and help them where you can • Pay attention to guests and their needs • Tip out Support team members according to guidelines (not sure I would put this in there since its suggested) • Greet all guests within 60 seconds or less. • Utilize open door policy • Complete walk-thrus with manager to ensure proper cleanliness and organization.
