Lilly Immunology Discovery is dedicated to identifying novel therapeutics to treat the myriad of autoimmune diseases impacting patients around the globe. We are currently seeking a motivated biologist to work as an integral part in our immunology research team. The main responsibility of this group is to develop and validate disease models of inflammation and autoimmunity for the interrogation of novel therapeutics. Located at the Lilly Biotechnology Center in San Diego, our pharmacology group supports projects directed both in San Diego and our Corporate Center in Indianapolis.

We are looking for a dedicated scientist to independently design, develop, and validate immunology cell-based functional assays. We will use these to test and analyze molecule activities, investigate the mechanism of action of biological drugs in vitro and in vivo, and ultimately deliver preclinical evidence for future clinical testing.

We are a diverse, innovative team searching for a biologist to contribute to develop immune functional cell-based assays. Do you have a deep understanding of in vitro assays and assay development? In addition to assay development we need a scientist who is skilled in flow cytometry, multicolor flow in particular.

Basic Qualifications:

B.S or M.S in immunology, cell biology or related field with 1 or more years of experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical industry or an academic institute

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • Experience with immunology research related technologies: human whole blood, primary human and mouse/rat leukocyte isolation, NHP whole blood assay; cellular activation and differentiation, cytokine assays- MSD, ELISA, FACS, confocal/image related techniques etc.

  • Strong background in designing, conducting, and analyzing FACS based experiments.

  • Experience with genomic and proteomic assays: DNA and RNA isolation, qPCR, single cell assays, western blot etc.

  • Design, screen and analyze data for protein or small molecule drugs in cell-based immune assays.

  • Independently design and complete experiments, analyze, interpret, and present experimental data.

  • Understand and be familiar with in vivo animal models.

  • Familiar with BD FACS, Cytek technology
