As the Business Development Manager you will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and building profitable relationships with potential customers and end users in the Commercial/Industrial market channel. You will actively mine new opportunities and explore options for core market expansion of our available line of products. This position may be based out of a remote, home office in the U.S., with easy access to a major airport. Preference for Central U.S. location.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Establishes productive, professional multi-level relationships with key cross-functional personnel for 80’ strategic customers and targets

  • Provides overall leadership for the account and coordinates the involvement of company personnel, including Distribution Account Managers, Regional Business Development Managers, marketing, technical, and management resources, to meet account performance objectives and customer expectations

  • Accurately outlook future sales and leads all significant account planning processes including budget development, establishment of income targets, and calling activity

  • Develop, manage, and execute contract negotiations with assigned customers to ensure goals are being met while maintaining or exceeding margin expectations

  • Proactively search, identify and obtain new business opportunities with new and existing customers

  • Leads activities to assess, clarify, and validate customer needs on an ongoing basis to develop efforts that best address customer requirements

  • Works closely with Customer Service, Product Management and plant Operations personnel to ensure customer satisfaction and problem resolution

  • Maintain close communications with Marketing and R&D to recommend and promote new applications and technologies relating to market and customer trends

  • Other duties may be assigned.

Deliverables

  • Achieve targeted sales plan for profitability and revenue in designated accounts.

  • Increase share at assigned accounts by target percentage above rate of market growth.

  • Develop cross-functional relationships across multiple customer geographical locations.

  • Maintain an active and ongoing pipeline of new business opportunities aligned with sales to target expectations.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or other related field or equivalent work experience.

  • At least 5 years sales experience, preferably in an industrial field.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify and successfully open new business opportunities.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven ability to influence customers.

  • Technical aptitude.

  • Ability to analyze sales data to determine appropriate actions to improve account position.

  • Results driven with ability to manage multiple priorities with highly effective follow-up skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, program management and presentation skills with ability and willingness to communicate, and work with other regions and locations.

  • Proven ability to generate respect and trust from staff and external customers/contacts, including the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a results driven, team- oriented environment.

  • Computer Skills:Excel, Outlook, Power Point skills along with CRM experience a plus.

  • Travel up to 50%.
