Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Category Analyst for University Procurement Services. Reporting to a Lease Administrator / Manager, this position has two primary areas of responsibility: (1) management of universitywide vending machines (currently over 600 machines); and (2) supporting the administration of procurement leases (currently 700 leases). This position will provide excellent customer service to university units and vendors related to vending machines and procurement leases.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Serves as the main point-of-contact for the university vending machine program for Rutgers units and vendors.
Manages vending machine maintenance, service and installation activities between facilities and vendors.
Develops vending machine issue log and report for measuring machine and vendor performance.
Oversees financials and compiles vending machine usage and financial reports for Rutgers units
Supports lease administration for procurement leases
Maintains lease documentation such as agreements, proposals, POs and invoices in centralized repository
Reviews lease agreements for accuracy such as accounting code information
Prepares lease data upload for GASB reporting
Coordinates end of lease activities such as notification, return procedure, lease extension or buyout
Supports the Lease Administration Lead in all procurement lease administrative activities
Documents process and procedures to establish a structured and organized environment for day-to-day activities
Performs analysis for procurement leases such as Lease vs Buy analysis and cost comparison analysis
Participates and contributes to projects related to vending machines and procurement leases
Ensures compliance with university guidelines, policies, and procedures
Completes various other tasks and duties as assigned

Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2023. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date. Flexible work arrangements are not permanent, are subject to change or cancellation and contingent on the employee receiving approval in the FlexWork@RU Application System. Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
A minimum of 2 years of project management, scheduling, planning, reporting, leasing, or related experience.

Demonstrated ability to work across different vendors and users as required.
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills including the ability to foster relationships while maintaining compliance with policies and procedures is required.
A team player and can balance multiple tasks at the same time.
Able to successfully manage activities and projects with limited management involvement.
Strong computer skills including proficiency with the Office suite of products.
Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent customer service ability and skills.

Experience in working with automated purchasing system.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Vending and/or Food Services Provider management is preferred.
Experience in Lease administration is preferred.
Equipment Utilized
Experience in scheduling, planning, report development is required using system or software tools.
Experience in preparing data in spreadsheet using Excel.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Special Conditions
Will require occasional travel to different Rutgers locations with vending machines.
