• Description:* Our client in the King & Pierce county area has multiple Medical Assistant positions open. New grads are OK to apply. Medical assistant specialists are responsible for helping to run the office of a public or private medical practice. These duties include administrative and some clinical duties. Medical assistant specialists are expected to greet patients, answer phones, make... appointments, process insurance paperwork and do bookkeeping as part of their administrative duties. Clinically, medical assistant specialists may be asked to perform electrocardiograms, draw blood, and record patients' vital signs, including blood pressure. In some states, they may also give injections. Additional duties will vary depending on their specialty. For example, podiatric medical assistants may assist doctors by performing x-rays and assisting in foot surgeries. Or, ophthalmic medical assistants may test patients' vision, apply dressings and give eye medications. Geriatric medical assistants will help care for the elderly, including feeding and dressing them. Your tasks and duties will depend highly on the clinic and specialty you choose to work for. General daily tasks include: • Great visitors and patients as they arrive at the clinic in a polite manner to make them feel welcomed; and answer telephone inquiries accordingly • Keep patients’ records safely in the clinic; obtain vital information from patients to fill in their personal details and health history forms for doctor’s use during treatment; and update information regularly to stay current • Inform patients of specimen required and direct them on their lab appointments; and collect patients’ lab results which are needed for further treatment • Participate in brainstorming session to generate ideas for more effective techniques in tackling specific health conditions; participate in the testing and experimentation of new strategies; observe patients closely and note the impact of said treatment to determine its efficiency or lack of it • Pass relevant information from the doctor regarding treatment to patients • Check patients’ blood pressure and temperature and take record of their health conditions as part of treatment preparatory processes, which provides the data the doctor needs for treatment • Assist in the creation of post treatment activities and routines for patients to hasten their recovery; maintain communication with patients and observe their recovery process • Participate in surgical procedures by performing non sensitive tasks, such as equipment handling, signs recording, and patient stabilization • Assist nurses in handling emergency cases by taking patients to the emergency room; assist in resuscitating them through administering CPR and first aid before the arrival of the doctor • Participate in specialized training programs so as to improve knowledge and adopt latest treatment techniques for effective treatment of patient • Specialties available:* • Primary Care • Pediatric • OB/GYN/Women's Health • Cardiology • Neurology • Dermatology Shifts: Monday to Friday 7:00AM to 6:00PM (some clinics have rotating weekends) • Skills & Qualifications:* • Certified Medical Assistant license • 0-6+ months experience in the medical field • Great customer service • EPIC experience About Actalent: Actalent connects passion with purpose.
