Construction Dispatcher

We provide a diverse, comprehenisve range of services for the following industries: Water/Waste Water, Oil & Gas, and Underground Dry Utilities. We have an exciting opportunity for a Construction Dispatcher in Norwalk, CA.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

- Responsible for the tasks of coordinating and dispatching crews, equipment, third parties and bare rentals to job sites.
- Maintains crew count reports and submits to management.
- Responsible for rental report, daily yard walk, GPS tracking, and missing equipment report.
- Responds to calls from the field requesting that sub-contractors, equipment or materials be organized and dispatched to job site.
- Creates and maintains dispatch requests, PO's and tracking methods for record keeping.
- Responsible for ensuring equipment is charged accurately in the Spectrum accounting system.
- Follow all requirements of the company safety program.
- Take personal responsibility for safety in working environment.
- Promote safety among peers, subordinates and supervisors
- Perform additional assignments and assume additional responsibilities as directed by the Facilities Manager.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

- A high school diploma required.
- Typically possesses at least 2 years of experience working as a construction dispatcher, or in a construction related discipline.
- Previous experience as a construction dispatcher a plus.

SKILLS, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

- Good knowledge of safety precautions and procedures relating to dispatch matters.
- Working knowledge of excel and access software for record keeping.
- Knowledge of Spectrum a big plus.
- Effective communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Complies with and maintains company confidentiality practices and policies.
- Interacts professionally with all company employees and outside persons.
- Able to stand for long periods of time, use arms and hands to reach for, handle and manipulate objects.
- Able to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs.

Working conditions consists of temperature-controlled buildings or offices, outside elements such as rain, cold, and heat when working with in open environments, driving from various locations or attending meetings, etc. Noise levels are moderate to loud depending on work location.
