Job Description
Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely.

BAE System’s Electronic Combat Solutions (ECS) business area has an exciting opportunity for a Program Director II to lead a fast-paced, complex, and strategic product area responsible for developing and delivering critical upgrade capability to the Joint Strike Fighter and future platforms leveraging Electronic Systems (ES) sector-wide business area capability or IRAD solutions. The Director, Future Capabilities product area, for the F-35 Solutions Product Line will report directly to the VP/GM for the F-35 Solutions Product Line and will be based at our location in Manchester, NH.

Responsibilities:

  • Attract, develop, and retain high-performing, diverse talent; build future leaders through development, mentoring, and modeling excellence. Lead through inspiration and encouragement to enhance employee performance, engagement, and overall team optimization.
  • Demonstrate a leading role in promoting adherence to the company’s ethical standards and business practices; ensure compliance with the BAE Systems Operational Assurance Framework and all other policies and requirements; provide for good stewardship of the assets of the business.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with safety objectives and policies.

Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship status

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Typically a Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or business-related discipline and a minimum of 12 years of experience leading technical and program teams through all phases of the lifecycle along with proven performance delivering on customer commitments in complex environments. PMP certification desired.
  • Ability to think strategically, collaborates within and across organizational boundaries, breaking down barriers and finding common ground.
  • Experience establishing and building customer relationships.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, mentoring and overall team development skills with the ability to achieve results through others in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with experience providing executive level briefings on project status and recommendations.
  • Experience operating, allocating resources, and prioritizing effectively in limited timeframes.
  • Solid understanding and experience with risk and opportunity management, defense contract types, and with collaborating with Finance to apply Earned Value Management techniques.
  • Knowledge of Government contracting, current acquisition trends and customer / competitor behaviors is a positive.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain DoD Secret clearance.


Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Successful, proven record leading and managing test development programs.
  • Transition to production experience.
