The Delivery Coordinator is the acting Supervisor for the Driving Staff as well as the Delivery fleet manager. You are responsible for organizing and preparing delivery routes and staffing schedules on an ongoing basis as well as overseeing fleet maintenance and other related tasks.
Experience/Education:
· High School Diploma or Equivalent
· Be at least 18 years of age.
· Must be an Idaho Board of Pharmacy Registered Pharmacy Technician. This process includes a Criminal Background Check.Re-certification is required annually in your birth month.
· Previous experience in logistics preferred.
· Previous experience as a Management/Supervisor preferred.
Essential Functions:
· Keep the drivers pool stocked- Ensure that we have enough drivers hired to meet our needs. Keep in close communication with HR for hiring needs.
· Make efficient delivery routes- This helps to lower the overall cost of the delivery department.
· Help in the Pharmacy as much as possible- Extra help that you can give to the Pharmacy means that we are getting out on time or early.
· Answering personal phone after hours- This is a must, as it helps to avoid service failures. Typically the DC is the person with the best knowledge of what is happening on any given run.
· Creating a living schedule for drivers based on availability, requested amount of hours, time off requests, etc.
· Weekly driver meetings- These should only take 5 minutes at the start of both shifts and should go over things that the group needs to work on and things that they are doing well.
· Must be a leader- Although you are a Supervisor over the driver pool, your presence in the Pharmacy is as part of the leadership team. If you see issues or have concerns please bring them to the Admin Team. Management and the Admin team, need to have one clear and concise voice.
· Ensure that all company car maintenance is done on time, and documented.
· Be creative- If you have ideas on how to improve efficiency let us know what they are.
· Understand the chain of command in the Pharmacy- The pharmacist is shift Manager. You are a supervisor over the delivery drivers. All Supervisory matters should be addressed with the Pharmacist or Admin Team.
· As the Delivery Coordinator you will be expected to cross train in all areas of Pharmacy Operations in order to optimize daily operations. This may include, but is not limited to:
· Helping to type and fill prescriptions. Answering phone calls and assisting or directing to the best of your ability.
· Any and all other duties as assigned by your Supervisor/Manager or as circumstances dictate.
· Manage oversite of documents, filing and record retention for Delivery.
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to stand for up to 10 hours.
· Must be able to lift and push or pull up to 50lbs.
· Pick and pinch small tablets with fingers, and seize, hold, grasp or turn objects with hands.
· Perceive the size, shape, temperature, or texture of objects by touching with fingertips.
· See objects at close vision and be able to identify and distinguish colors.
Other skills and abilities include:
· Have typing skills of at least 30 wpm.
· Pass a drug test.
· Maintain information confidentiality
· Offer flexibility in work hour scheduling.
Schedule:
9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday thru Friday, with the expectation of some after-hours work. You are expected to be here at opening and stay until all the day’s tasks are complete, as well as being available for after-hours call as needed.
