The Job
As the EJD Logistics Analyst, you will analyze all of the different outbound transportation modes from the Distribution Centers to Emery Jensen Distributions customers. This team member will track freight costs at the individual shipment level by customer and then will work directly with varying levels of management and business partners to identify ways to optimize outbound shipments and reduce overall freight expenses.
What you will do
Partner with the Traffic department to identify and track detailed freight costs, by mode and by customer to incorporate in customer profitability reporting and data analytics.
Review outbound customer freight details and recommend changes to the management team to reduce overall freight expenses.
Regularly evaluate the intercompany allocation of freight expenses when the internal fleet is utilized to ensure that costs are being correctly assessed.
Assist in assessing the shipping methods that are to be utilized when onboarding new customers.
Support other projects and initiatives as assigned.
What you need to succeed
Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, or Accounting
Minimum 2-4 years of work experience in an analytical capacity
The ability to think critically and identify efficiencies and solutions.
Developed analytical, problem-solving and data-mining skills
Basic project/time management skills
Ability to work with supervision
Proficient verbal and written communication skills
Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Excel with experience in running pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.
Report into the Oak Brook, IL office at minimum 2 days per week (Mondays and Wednesdays).
Compensation Details:
$64000 - $75000
