Department of Commerce/WorkForce West Virginia/Wood Co.-This position is in the Parkersburg Field Operations unit. The local office manager oversees the operations of the service center and manages the staff and programs administered by WorkForce West Virginia. This position develops and administers data collection systems, develops and coordinates employer relations and community relations programs, and directs and supervises the activities of the local office. Applies federal and state laws as well as established agency policies in directing the daily operations of the office. The local office manager approves leave and other appropriate personnel actions. The job requires frequent evening and weekend hours and extensive travel. Performs related work as required. (***OASIS Position Number: 0323P00251***)

Experience: Four years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in a responsible professional or technical capacity in one or more of the following fields: public administration, industrial, personnel or business management, employment security, labor or industrial relations two years of which must have been in a responsible supervisory capacity.Substitution: Master's degree in one of the above fields from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of the non-supervisory experience. Professional experience with the department in a local office involving duties associated with job development, interviewing, or placement may be substituted for the required supervisory experience on a year-for-year basis.
