Overview Provides Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) level emergency medical care to patients at the scene. Emergency Medical Responders will answer emergency calls to provide efficient and immediate care to ill and injured patients. After receiving notification of an emergency, the EMR safely responds to the address or location given, using the most expeditious route, depending on traffic and weather conditions. Responsibilities
- The EMS Driver/EMR must observe traffic ordinances and regulations concerning emergency vehicle operation.
- Observes and performs EMR level assessment and treatment of patients\' trauma or medical related condition: recognizes, identifies, and interprets serious situations and informs EMT.
- Initiates appropriate measures and treatment according to Indiana State protocols and as advised by Medical Control.
- Demonstrates ability to respond quickly and make decisions using good judgment under stress in hazardous situations and human relationships.
- Operates and monitors emergency medical equipment including but not limited to mechanical CPR. devices, suction and oxygen equipment per EMR protocols.
- Timely completes all required documentation with appropriate and accurate information.
- Adhere to safe workplace standard operating guidelines, policies, procedures and practices, and looks out for and reports deficiencies.
- Shares responsibility for security of buildings and personnel by monitoring security cameras and doors. Performs regular cleaning duties to maintain a clean, neat and safe work environment.
- Strong organizational skills required with the ability to effectively follow up as needed.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience: Some previous work-related experience
- Current State Driver\'s License/ Driving Report
Preferred.
- CPR certification
- Current EMR Certification
