The Position

We are partnering with a precast organization is looking for an Engineer in Training to join our dynamic team in Beloit, Wisconsin.

The Engineer in Training position is uniquely designed to give real-world experience to an Engineering professional just beginning their career. The position will provide the individual with the opportunity to rotate through many areas of the organization, including Production, Field, Sales, Quality, Safety, Engineering, and Design, to learn the business from the ground up. Upon successful completion of the rotation, training, and performance measures, the Engineer in Training will have the opportunity to become a Project Engineer. This individual will also be responsible for:

  • Preparing structural computations and specify design requirements for precast components, precast structures, and associated connections.
  • Checking submittal drawings prepared by the project design team in conformance with the intent of contract documents and specified design requirements.
  • Reviewing erection drawings prepared by the project design team for release to production and final approval by the governing engineer
  • Verifying production drawings prepared by the project design team in conformance with erection drawings and specified design requirements.
  • Collaborating with the project team for successful completion of assigned projects.
  • Working closely with production, purchasing, and installation teams to resolve project issues.
  • Proactively working with the Senior Structural Engineer to create tools to increase productivity.

The Person

We are looking for someone who is excited to learn about the precast industry through training, feedback, and hands-on experience. They demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and organizational skills and are always looking for ways to innovate and improve products and processes. They are comfortable communicating their ideas and collaborating with teammates.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field or anticipated date of degree completion within two years of hire date.
  • Ability to show roadmap for taking the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
  • Academic understanding of construction processes (architectural drawings, details, and constructability).
  • Demonstrated ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts and operations to structural analysis of building systems and components.
  • Experience with Revit Autodesk modeling or equivalent software.
  • Literacy in engineering software programs.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
  • Civil Engineering concentration.
  • Coursework studying precast concrete engineering standards.
