Summary:
Meta is seeking a Geo Manager, Data Center Design, NORAM experienced in leading an in-house team of engineers and architects. The successful candidate will provide guidance and empower the team to deliver Critical Facilities, across Greenfields, Retrofits and Leased facilities, to support the needs of the company’s expansion plans.Our data centers are the foundation upon which our software operates enabling innovation for the company. Building and operating data centers the "right" way from the day they go live is synonymous with ensuring capacity availability and capital conservatism. The data center engineering team collaborates with all key stakeholders to ensure engineering and design of our data centers incorporate considerations from micro-levels (servers and IT equipment design requirements) to macro-levels (mechanical cooling, power distribution and connectivity options) to ensure maximum efficiency and reliability of our compute infrastructure. This position is full-time.

Manage an immediate team in the development, design and construction execution of data center critical infrastructure systems
Provide technical guidance and subject matter expertise to team to address challenges with design to ensure solutions continue to meet the core business needs
Conduct weekly meetings with direct reports to provide feedback and assist in addressing concerns and removing roadblocks
Support the career growth of your team members and holding them accountable for success
Assigns projects aligned with teams strengths, skills and motivations while adjusting management style to match the needs of the individuals and team(s)
Manage consultants to implement the project design through concept, construction documents, and construction administration
Provide mission critical system review services to local data center facility operations teams
Support the cross-functional teams during commissioning activities of our greenfield and retrofits data centers
Research new designs, materials, and construction methods for data center gear and related components
Collaborate with cross-pillar teams in Center of Excellence in lead/develop updates to the design standards and specifications for consistency and maximum system reliability in alignment with our business needs
Provide and review change management request activities
Develop capital project budgets and complex business case analyses
Travel to data center sites for building relationships with pre-construction, construction and QA/QC partners and in support of construction administration activities as required (15% - 25% travel)
Respond on an as-needed basis to emergencies. Engage with corporate user groups and stakeholders. Engage with the other management teams
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
BS in Industry related Engineering Professional Registration. Minimum of 8 years professional experience in data center design, construction, operations, and maintenance
Experience leading teams on large projects across greenfield, retrofits and leased (colocation) facilities. Knowledge of industry standards, building codes and safety standards including NFPA, UFC and UBC. Working knowledge of mission critical engineering and construction processes (data centers, healthcare, etc.) including mechanical, electrical, architectural and associated documentation standards
Cross-discipline knowledge of complete critical facility systems and design & construction services
Trouble shooting and analytical skills to make data driven decisions
Project Management: Experience coordinating multiple consultant and contractor teams
Experience building trusted relationships with immediate team, external stakeholders and vendors to influence decisions for the benefit of the business
Communications skills with the experience to clearly articulate decisions and direction across leadership, peers and team
Experience gaining consensus and provide solutions to fast paced projects with competing priorities
Experience working on large and complex greenfield and retrofits projects

Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Visio, Bluebeam software, FloTHERM or TileFlow
Minimum of (5) years of experience in people management
Public Compensation:
$167,000/year to $230,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
