GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Veterans' Home of Wyoming seeks qualified applicants to fill the Certified Nursing Assistant position (CNA). This position aims to assist the nursing staff in providing health care for the residents' personal/physical needs, comfort, and safety. Performs duties and tasks delegated or assigned by the charge RN and/or nurse manager.

Provides support to a person with a disability at home, work, school, church, and other community places.
Assists with activities of daily living and encourages attitudes and behaviors that enhance community inclusion.
Acts as an advocate for disabled individuals in communicating their needs, self-expression, and goals.
Provides daily individual and group contact to clients through the delivery of recreation and leisure activities.
Plans and prepares for the group and special event programming for clients.
Documents weekly progress toward group and intervention participation.
Participates in treatment team meetings and shift change reports.
Qualifications
PREFERENCES:
Preference will be given to individuals with six (6) months or more experience in healthcare, typically in Human Services.
Preference will be given to individuals with CNA Certification.
KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of client protocols and interventions of therapy.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and practice partner.
Knowledge of procedures of specialized sensory programs to include olfactory, vestibular motion, tactile implements, and auditory interventions.
Knowledge of mental illnesses and disabilities.
Knowledge of program adaptations.
Knowledge of recreation and social programming.
Knowledge of motivational techniques.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Associate's Degree (typically in Healthcare)
Experience:
No prior experience required
OR
Education & Experience Substitution:
1-3 years of progressive work experience (typically in Human Services)
OR
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
CNA Certification
Necessary Special Requirements
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Work holidays, evenings, nights, and weekends as scheduled
NOTES:
FLSA: Non-exempt
Annual influenza immunization required
A background information check, including the taking of fingerprints, will be completed through the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation, the Wyoming Department of Family Services, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for every successful applicant.
A pre-employment drug screening is required by the Wyoming Department of Health.
