HUMAN RESOURCES DIRECTOR
City of Bowling Green
(Pay Band 7: \$105,000 - \$109,803)
The City of Bowling Green, a community of 30,000+, is seeking an experienced Human Resources administrator to join its executive team to direct and coordinate all activities of the City's Human Resources Department. The Human Resources Director, which is an unclassified, exempt/salaried position, serves as a member the City's executive staff and plays a significant role in developing strategic direction of the organization. Develops and directs all human resources programs and outreach initiatives. Serves as the City liaison with the Civil Service functions; ensures uniform application of City policies compliance with all applicable state, federal and local employment laws. Directs all recruitment and hiring activities; directs performance appraisal systems; coordinates safety and other training; assists administrators with employee disciplinary issues; serves as principle Labor Relations Officer; administers/manages employee benefit programs and advises top management about Human Resources issues; serves as one of the City's representatives on the health insurance pool. Involved in all types of employee/HR related matters including HR support of the City's payroll system. The ideal candidate should possess proven leadership ability, sound judgement and a demonstrable track record of building teams and trust in the development and delivery of organizational goals objectives. Education beyond an undergraduate degree preferred; seven to ten years of relevant executive management/leadership experience required. Previous government Human Resources and payroll management is highly valued in this position.
