Job Description: Are you looking for a growth opportunity where you can contribute to a very important mission? Come and be part of our team in the dynamic world of L3HARRIS Space and Sensors. We are seeking an Industrial Engineer to work at our space and sensors division.
The role will involve being responsible for supporting all build processes in our Cryo-cooler Assembly area. Ideal candidates will be able to work in highly regulated build space with complex mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies.
Essential Functions:
Generate build and assembly instruction utilizing best practices from other assembly processes
Support the technical needs of the production staff on mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies
Responsible for implementing yield improvements using Root Cause, 5-Why, 8D processes and various validation plans
Work cross functionally with manufacturing, quality, and design community
Communicate and perform internal production readiness reviews
Support other electro-mechanical products from a build and assembly perspective
Willingness to do limited traveling for training purposes
Manage projects including capital procurement and installation
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience
Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with electro-mechanical systems
Familiarity with drawing packages (AutoCAD,Solidworks)
Assembly skills including fastener torquing, staking, potting, Laser welding, CNC machining and assembly troubleshooting
Ability to work in a highly regulated environment
High level of independence and personal accountability to meet company and personnel deadlines
Strong interpersonal relationship skills
Ability to prioritize, multi-task, work independently, and adapt to sudden changes in plans
Ability to interface across various functions
Familiar with lean manufacturing principles desired, gage R&R, DFMEA, PFMEA
Experience with MATLAB a plus
Experience with Microsoft Office Suites
