The Information System Engineer will support the delivery of IT services, provide end user support, and play a hands-on role in supporting various local and enterprise systems, including Microsoft 365 and Azure.
Major Responsibilities/Functions:
- Provide hands-on technical assistance, support, and training to internal customers.
- Possess excellent communication, technical, and project management skills.
- Configure, repair, manage, and track new and existing employee equipment.
- Troubleshoot, resolve, repair, and document complex technical problems and issues.
- Ensure that IT backup and disaster recovery procedures are implemented, maintained, and tested.
- Perform compatibility testing for new hardware and software.
- Communicate system and process changes to appropriate personnel.
- Administer and maintain Active Directory and Group Policy.
- Generate runbooks, training aids, quick reference guides, and other aids to enable internal customers to be self-sufficient.
- Provide input to management for planning of infrastructure, process improvements, and support activities.
- Create administrative scripts as needed using appropriate scripting languages.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Degree in Computer Science or similar curriculum with technical background in related discipline, or similar combinations of equivalent education and experience.
- 2+ years of experience in IT support.
- Proficiency in Microsoft OneDrive, SharePoint, Outlook, Teams, and PowerShell.
- Experience managing Microsoft Windows 10/11 and Server OSs.
- General understanding of routers, switches, firewalls, WiFi access points, and VPN.
- Maintenance of 1 or more applicable Microsoft certifications (MTA/MCSA) is desirable.
- On-call availability including requirement to work and/or coordinate after hours and weekends.
