What We Are Looking For: The Journeyman Electrician will Assist the Lead Installer with superior quality PV installations in the following areas: laying out Balance of System (BOS), making conduit and wiring runs, installing DC and AC disconnects & inverters, grid interconnections, home runs, wiring combiner box, and performing voltage testing. Ensure that all conduit and wire runs and BOS installations meet expected quality standards. Assist with overall crew & job site safety, participate in safety training. Assist with the installation of roof penetrations, racking, and panel attachments. Ensure that all necessary materials and tools are staged and arrive at the job site. Assist with site preparation and clean-up. Assist with completion of installation reports and paperwork. Maintain tool management standards. Assist with general ground support. Salary: Highly Competitive Wages Responsibilities: • Overseeing and constructing residential and commercial Solar Photovoltaic (“PV”) Systems within the State of Idaho. • Reading schematics and following technical installation instructions • Communicating with customers, setting expectations, and obtaining signatures when necessary • Organizing, managing, and submitting the necessary paperwork • Ensure all installation procedures comply with the NEC code. • Managing inventory • Installing, connecting, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting system components • Working with electrical components, including 240 VAC and 600 VDC Loading/unloading materials • Interviewing, hiring, and on-boarding prospective installer trainees and electrical apprentices • Training, leading and motivating other installers and trainees • Consistently check system operations and safety and limit controls before leaving job locations • Ensure customers’ questions/concerns have been addressed before leaving the worksite • Use proper tools and instruments while troubleshooting • Incorporate solution techniques to assist other service representatives and customers • Keep supervisor and manager informed of new developments, changes, or customer complaints Requirements: • Must be able to maintain either a Journeyman or Master Electrician’s License in accordance with State of Idaho Division of Building Safety guidelines Idaho state Journeyman Electrical license • Must be detail and deadline-oriented • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. • Must be able to climb ladders, bend conduit, scaffolding • Must be able to work on sloped roofs in all weather conditions • Must be able to create and maintain positive relationships with clients and all team members • Must have excellent communication skills Minimum Requirements • High School Diploma (or GED) • CA Residential or General License • 1+ years’ experience as an electrician, solar installer, or solar maintenance technician • Current, valid Driver’s license with acceptable Motor Vehicle Report • Proficient in speaking, reading and writing English • Working knowledge of the NEC Preferred Qualifications • Formal apprenticeship and/or vocational training • 1 + years’ experience in the solar electric industry preferred. • 2+ years’ electrical experience Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Proficiency with using company programs and apps • Organized and maintains a professional appearance • Strong verbal and written communication skills Working Conditions • Location varies with job site • Driving required; needs valid Driver's license with acceptable Motor Vehicle Record • Must be willing to travel for some projects depending on jobsite Job Type: Full-time Pay: $23.24 - $46.15 per hour Benefits: • Employee discount • Flexible schedule • Paid time off Schedule: • 8 hour shift Supplemental pay types: • Bonus pay • Commission pay Ability to commute/relocate: • Boise, ID: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required) License/Certification: • Electrical License (Preferred) Willingness to travel: • 25% (Preferred) Work Location: One location
