Red River is seeking a Lead Deployment Engineer to join our growing team! This lead engineer is a highly technical, hands-on manager and the main technical point of contact for customers and associated members of the engineering team responsible for planning, implementing and supporting complex storage, compute, and backup solutions. Our customers' operational success will be this candidate’s responsibility. The person in this role will have extensive experience supporting large physical and virtual environments that span multiple geographic locations. This includes environments that host hundreds of applications and support thousands of end users. The ideal candidate must be well versed in solutions deployment, disaster recovery, configuring highly available infrastructures, enterprise architect collaboration, expert level troubleshooting, team building, and mentoring. They will also ensure the solution is reliable, up-to-date, optimally configured, cost effective and reliable. This person should be strong analytically and technically, while maintaining a personable and professional relationship with the customer.
Primary Position Tasks
Primary point of contact for customers and team members
Prioritize work schedules to meet or exceed project timelines and objectives
Strong time management and organizational skills
Respond to RFQs, RFPs and RFIs
Responsible for providing customer documentation related to support, training, and transitioning
Demonstrates technical knowledge and consultative skills, while working with customers and Red River team members.
Minimum Education/Certification/Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience desired
10-15 Years of Experience supporting enterprise level IT operations
10+ Years of SAN and Storage management (Dell/EMC, Hitachi, and NetApp SAN/NAS/Object experience preferred)
5+ years managing VMWare/ESX Servers (Cisco UCS Experience preferred)
5+ years team lead experience
5+ years Backup and restore administration/experience (Veritas, Veeam, CommVault preferred)
Demonstrated experience configuring and deploying Hyperconverged Infrastructures
AWS, Azure configuration and support familiarization
Strong understanding of security and appropriate and timely remediation
Must be a self-starter and possess the ability to operate independently
Develop and maintain documentation of system policies, procedures, processes, and configurations
Continuous process improvement, performance management, and KPI reporting
Must be able to obtain various security clearance levels as needed
Knowledge, Skills, Attributes
Ability to motivate team members
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
ITIL Foundations training and certification
Technical knowledge and consultative skills to support customers and Red River team members
Technical aptitude allowing the learning of new products and their applicability
Special Requirements:
- Travel to customer sites will be required, with frequency dependent on future contract requirements.
