Lead Technical Delivery Manager

TIAA is seeking a Lead Technical Delivery Manager (TDM) for their Global Infrastructure Services (GIS) organization. As a TDM, you will be a strategic partner with our Application Development, Cyber Security, Data & AI and GIS teams and with key business leaders across the enterprise. The TDM will be accountable for relationship management, application & infrastructure architecture consulting, marketing and technology adoption, and process improvement as it relates to GIS products, services, and processes. This role will align with the Retirement, Marketing, Digital Channels and Advice Technology application development teams.

As a TDM, you will assess the infrastructure needs of your partners including servers, middleware, databases, network, storage, and cloud and will facilitate the design, planning, and building of the infrastructure and ensure the solution is operationally ready for GIS support teams.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Act as a trusted partner with assigned line of business by understanding their business objectives as well as their tactical and strategic infrastructure needs and how it impacts GIS.

  • Serve as a communication conduit between line of business and GIS teams to ensure business objectives are being met while ensuring GIS standards and operational needs are being met.

  • Advise line of business partners on GIS products and services and appropriate use-cases for their implementation.

  • Own, develop and maintain strong relationships with App Dev teams, business leaders, GIS, Data & AI, Architecture and Cyber Security organizations.

  • Open and maintain proactive formal and informal lines of communication as required to raise awareness across organizational boundaries.

  • Meet or exceed customer expectations by analyzing requests, collecting requirements, scoping, assessing, and delivering solutions that address the client’s business requirements and GIS standards and operational needs.

  • Consult with domain and infrastructure solution architects to develop end to end logical and physical designs.

  • Identify and champion opportunities to drive greater efficiency in GIS service delivery including the identification of common technology patterns and self-service automation.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline, or commensurate experience

  • 7+ years deep technical experience across multiple technologies with an understanding of technology-governance frameworks, security, infrastructure, and applications used in financial services.

  • Broad technical knowledge around Server, Containers, Storage, Middleware, Database, Application Development, Automation, Network and Cloud computing technologies.

  • 4+ years working in experience cross-functional teams in a matrixed, geographically, and culturally diverse environment with successful demonstration of competencies as presented above

  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to convey complex and technical issues to diverse audiences

  • Excellent collaboration, negotiation and partnering skills.

  • Extensive experience translating business requirements into technical solutions and how these solutions impact timelines

  • Proven experience managing and working with geographically distributed and culturally diverse teams

  • Excellent people management skills, including the ability to influence, negotiate and achieve results through others who are not direct reports

  • Results-oriented and delivery-focused; sets high performance standards for self and others

  • Capability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and make decisions in a timely manner

  • Experience working in Agile methodology

  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Visio, Word, PowerPoint and Excel

Desired Experience

  • Prior hands-on engineering, architecture, or programming experience

  • Cloud certification in AWS, Azure or GCP

  • SAFe Agile or Agile certification

  • Experience using Jira

  • Process improvement certification (i.e. Lean, Six Sigma)

Base Pay Range: $112,200/yr. - $187,000/yr.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
