What will I be responsible for in this job?

Lead Lean Six Sigma process improvement projects, from opportunity scouting and definition through to benefit realization, by leading cross-functional project teams in process analysis, root cause analysis, and process improvement development, to improve customer satisfaction, business results, and utilization of employee time and skills.

Use appropriate tools to analyze process data sets, identify potential problems with data sets, facilitate with SMEs to identify what additional data may be needed to characterize and analyze a given process. Identify needs for data manipulation and augmentation, and develop enhanced data sets when needed. Use data analysis to identify potential root cause areas for further investigation. Determine and carry out analysis needed to confirm and quantify suspected root causes for process behaviors. Identify opportunities to balance sound analysis of available data with timely delivery of business results, and proactively lead resolution.

Identify potential needs for adjustments in the areas of project team membership or sponsorship, data collected or to be collected, data analysis tools, root cause analysis, improvement development, improvement implementation, and improvement assessment, and lead to resolution.

Communicate to and consult with stakeholders about project status and performance of key processes, as well as the suitability of proposed process improvements, including explanation of the analyses behind the recommendations, the costs, and the benefits.

Use Lean Six Sigma methodologies for new process development (DMADV), to assure new processes address the critical-to-quality needs of the customer and perform at high levels of satisfaction when implemented.

Obtain training on process improvement methods and tools, provide coaching to less experienced practitioners as assigned, advocate for Lean Six Sigma methodology for process improvement, and qualify for Six Sigma Black Belt certification if not already certified at that level.

What are the requirements?

• Six Sigma Green Belt certification. Black Belt preferred.

• 8 years experience, at least 2 years of which is in process improvement.

• Bachelors degree required. STEM major preferred.

• Physical requirements: Normal office activities.

What critical skills are needed for you to consider someone for this position?

• At least Green-Belt-level experience in the use of Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies.

• Experience in project planning, tracking, management, working with stakeholders and sponsors, and status-reporting.

• Experience in leading and facilitating cross-functional project teams.

• Experience in data gathering, cleaning, manipulation, analysis, and presentation.

• Experience in process-performance-related analytical tools, e.g. Excel analysis tools, Process Mapping.

• Solid communications and presentation skills.

How much should I expect to travel?

Less than 10%.

This position is work-from-home, in the continental United States. Occasional travel to work with colleagues or project teams in person may be required.

New York and New Jersey Residents Only: The salary range for New York City, NY and Westchester County, NY is $101,315 - $196,440. The salary range for Ithaca, NY is $88,100– $163,700. The salary range for Jersey City, NJ is $105,720 – $196,440.
