The Licensed MH Counselor provides direct mental health services to individuals with serious and persistent mental illness in an outpatient psychiatric clinic. This position will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary teams that could include a prescriber, nurse, case manager, and community resource contacts. Responsibilities include completing assessments and diagnosis; recovery planning; liaison with other clinical service providers; provision of treatment and crisis services during regular business hours; and documentation of client progress. Serves on after-hours crisis on-call rotation. Demonstrates the ability to analyze clinical needs and social situations, identifying problems and alternative courses of actions, while demonstrating multicultural sensitivity and effective communication skills. Requires willingness to be flexible, resourceful, and creative in problem solving. Must demonstrate an ability to organize and present information clearly and concisely to keep the individuals, prescribers, team members, and family members informed of clinical issues.
Location: Terrell, Texas
Hours: Full-Time, 40 Hours per Week; 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday
Salary: $64,000. -LPHA with no experience
$65,280.-LPHA-S

Requires a Master s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in a qualified human services field including psychology, social work, counseling, marriage & family therapy, sociology, human development, gerontology, educational psychology, special education, nursing, physician assistant, or Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology. Must also have a valid Texas professional license to include Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Psychologist (PhD), Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), Physician Assistant (PA), or Licensed Physician (MD). Professional license status as an Intern (eg, LPC-I) may also be acceptable contingent on ability to obtain full licensure within the first year of employment. Must have a valid drivers license and an acceptable driving record, as well as personal automobile liability insurance as required by the state of Texas.
Preferred Qualifications:
Fully licensed with two years of related work experience in a mental health treatment setting; knowledge of psychotropic medications and DSM V; working computer skills including MS Word, Excel and Outlook; and bilingual skills (English/Spanish).
