Position Description:
Responsible for operating machine tools such as mill and lathe to produce precision metal parts. Assembles, repairs, and fabricates parts into sub-units or complete units. Uses blueprints, design sketches, and CNC coding to ensure the proper dimensions and tolerance levels of the finished product.

Major/Essential Functions:
Machining and fabrication of parts
Procuring material and tooling
CAD review of part designs, and use of CAM software for CNC machining
Day-to-day management and operation of the Center for Pulsed Power and Power Electronics Machine Shop
Coordination with faculty, technicians, staff and students for parts fabrication
Paid continuing education will be offered such as specialized CNC and material handling certification
This position requires that you must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident under Titles 15 and 22 of the United States Code of Federal Regulations [15 C.F.R. 734.2 & 736.2; 22 CRF 120.17] to fulfill key functions of this position.
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary Range $24/hr ($50 000/per year) up to $36/hr (75 000/per year) based on experience and qualifications.

About the Department and/or College:
The Center for Pulsed Power and Power Electronics is seeking a full-time machinist to perform skilled machining (including CNC machining) in the coordination and completion of projects. Individual will work with researchers, including students, to develop and improve existing designs, and may also supervise subordinate employees.
