Magnitude of Position:
General responsibility for producing a quality product as a member of a production assembly line.

Accountability:
Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for all types of machine and building repair including the execution of Preventative Maintenance and Predictive Maintenance programs and tasks.
Environment of Position:
A corporate environment within a manufacturer of control transformers in which teamwork, respect and integrity is essential. Functions independently in a multi-task environment, as well as part of a team. Works in an office and manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels and typical manufacturing conditions.
Qualifications:
- Technical degree in maintenance/repair or equivalent experience
- Eight years machine and building maintenance experience
- Experience repairing CNC, fixed automation, welding (TIG & MIG) and Robotic equipment; High voltage electrical testing equipment and HVAC a plus
- Demonstrated troubleshooting/problem solving skills
- Strong communication skills
- Strong leadership and teamwork skills
- Experience reading part and machine drawings, schematics, hydraulic and wiring diagrams
- Experience with MS Office; AutoCAD a plus
- Advanced PLC Programming experience
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and using Continuous Improvement tools/concepts preferred
- Basic CNC programming experience preferred
- TIG, MIG & ARC welding experience preferred
- Tool and fixture design preferred
RESPONSIBILITY/DUTIES:
- Maintain function and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment by performing reactive machine and building maintenance. This includes but is not limited to mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repairing of manual, mobile, automated, and building equipment; restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts; operating and testing systems and equipment to validate repairs.
- Evaluate functionality and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment by conferring with operating departments, identifying problems and requirements.
- Improve function and reliability of all facility systems and associated equipment by studying performance results, identifying, recommending, and implementing changes, expansions, and additions.
- Perform root cause analysis on reoccurring issues for permanent or lasting solutions to problems
- Build equipment and/or machinery per engineering and customer specifications
- Create and/or maintain processes and procedures for repair and upkeep of equipment including but not limited to PM’s, Predictive Maintenance, LOTO and other maintenance related subjects
- Maintain working inventory of parts and work performed in Maintenance Planning Software
- Maintain maintenance crib and surrounding area to 5S standards.
- Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal codes and regulations.
- Perform carpentry and related work involved in maintaining building.
- Provides continuous improvement ideas as related to cost savings and safety
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; partici pating in professional societies and departmental cross training
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Possess Ability to stand for extended periods of time (up to 3 hours, continuously, between breaks).
- Ability to move short distances to communicate with Leads and Supervisors
- Ability to read English to understand and comply with SDS restrictions and chemical labels
- Ability to speak English to communicate with co-workers and management for questions, concerns, or emergencies
- Have attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
Protective equipment required:
- Certified safety glasses or side shields for prescription glasses with protective lenses
- Nitrile gloves should be used when handling chemicals
- Durable cut resistant gloves when performing activities involving sharp tools, materials, and equipment
- Wear electrical grade gloves when working with electricity
- Anti-slip, steel-toed safety shoes are recommended but not required
Physical Job Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time (up to 3 hours, continuously, between breaks).
- Ability to use a ladder to climb to height of 6 feet
