Exempt position. The Pathology Quality and Regulatory Manager functions independently and in collaboration with the Department Medical Chair to coordinate and monitor implementation of policies and procedures relating to quality activities. Possesses expertise in and recommends and/or provides training in key regulatory issues, quality measures, auditing procedures in the areas of laboratory regulatory accreditation, quality control, quality management and incidents related to department quality. Serves as a laboratory/institutional liaison in the interpretation of Federal and State regulations impacting the clinical laboratories. Travel is required of this position. Provides direction to all laboratory staff with respect to quality related job activitiesQualifications
Baccalaureate degree in Medical Technology, Medical/Clinical Laboratory Science, Cytology, Histology, or a science related field with completion of a clinical laboratory internship. Five years experience actively working in a clinical laboratory. Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing. Excellent working knowledge of laboratory regulatory standards. Knowledge of quality assurance principles and practices. Ability to be effective in a diverse work group. Ability to work independently. Ability to exercise independent judgment and render decisions. Prioritization and problem solving skills. Critical thinking skills required. Computer skills required. Must be able to demonstrate leadership and project management skills. Must possess a thorough understanding of processes and primary missions.Additional qualifications
One to three years management/supervisory experience in a laboratory preferred. Working knowledge of electronic document control systems preferred. Working knowledge of laboratory information system preferred.License or certification
Applicant should possess an HHS (Health Human Services) approved laboratory or laboratory specialty certification or applicant must be registry eligible. Registry eligible candidates must successfully complete Board of Registry examination within first 6 months of employment. Current Mayo employees should have completed or be working toward Silver Level Fellowship with the Mayo Quality Academy.Exemption status
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $3,284.80, based on a full-time position.Benefits eligible
