Manages all functions of the billing office pertaining to verification of insurance and registration of all POC patients.

Location: various locations in the Metro Atlanta area

Schedule: Monday - Friday

Job Type: full time

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitors effectiveness of collection efforts and maintains insurance billings are current within the established time frame specified in the department policy.

  • Compiles and prepares various status reports for management in order to analyze trends and make recommendations.

  • Create a cross functional training manual for revenue cycle staff and other departments that incorporates, as well as, aligns the company’s strategy and culture of Certainty and Operational excellence. 

  • Performance counseling staff with behavioral/attitudinal problems. Implements the necessary guidelines on discipline management for erring employees, in accordance with company policies, rules and regulations, due process, and government regulations.

  • Enforces all policies and procedures of the CBO.

  • Maintains patient confidentiality according to HIPPA guidelines. Other duties as assigned.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Directly supervises Front Desk Check Out team, Surgery Deposit team, Pre-Certification team, and Insurance Verification team.

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Coordinating schedules for weekend coverage.

    Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Bachelor's degree preferred.  Minimum 3 or more years of medical billing and account follow up experience.

  • Previous supervisory experience of large groups (30+) required.

  • Experience staffing multiple locations.

  • Excellent TOS collections along with proven customer service.

  • Ability to engage at 9 onsite locations plus remote teams as well.

  • Background in pre-certification, insurance verification, and surgery collections preferred.

  • Must be familiar with CPT, HCPCS and CMS regulations, familiarity with UB 04 claim form completion, knowledge of Medicare, Managed care and commercial insurances products and plans. Good knowledge of correct billing and collection practices.
