Supernal is at the forefront of creating emerging mobility solutions that will foster the development of human-centered cities. What we do:

The Manufacturing Engineer role reports directly to the Lead Manufacturing Engineer and is heavily involved in manufacturing technology maturation and prototype build activities. This role provides manufacturing support to airframe and vehicle systems design teams, while ensuring a design for manufacturing philosophy. Additionally, this role works to ensure the vehicle properly utilizes novel materials, processes, and Industry 4.0 technologies to meet aircraft rate requirements. The Manufacturing Engineer is a part of the assembly and integration product team.

What you can do:
  • Support technology development projects for high-rate manufacturing materials and processes
  • Closely coordinate with prototype build activities and internal design teams
  • Incorporate novel manufacturing technologies into vehicle design by providing strong technical support to the airframe design teams
  • Support the fabrication efforts for structural test, demonstration articles, and prototype aircraft
  • Collaborate with all engineering teams to ensure design for manufacturing principles are properly applied
  • Support development of manufacturing standard practices and procedures
  • Assist in development of tooling standard practices and detail design efforts
  • Other duties as assigned

What you can contribute:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Up to 3 years of experience in aviation and/or automotive industries (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)
  • Must have a fundamental understanding of aviation or automotive production environments
  • Experience with prototyping
  • Experience in composite fabrication methods
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to improve the assembly and FAL process of a product (Design for Manufacturing)
  • Experience in aviation, automotive, and/or the mobility space with UAS or UAM
  • Open-minded attitude
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly collaborative and works well both independently and with a team
  • Sense of urgency, proactive delivery of communication and follow up
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Must have the ability to independently prioritize and accomplish work within time constraints
  • Self-motivated and forward-thinking personality
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite

You may also be able to contribute:
  • Master's degree a plus
  • LEAN/Six Sigma experience and qualifications a plus
  • Manufacturing build plan experience with development programs
  • Project management skills
  • Proficient with model-based definition, drafting, and GD&T standards
