About the role
What you need to know:
· A designated subject matter or product expert within the NAM / LAC region, who works collaboratively with the Global Marine Recovery leader; Global, NAM & LAC Marine Claim Leadership and the NAM / LAC Marine business stakeholders.
· Strong technical capability to analyze complex marine Transportation Agreements / Bills of Lading and Marine Insurance Policies to determine the best plan of action to protect and execute AIG’s Marine Subrogation Rights & opportunities.
· Lead proactive review and assessment of external recovery agent performance and compliance with established SLAs across the NAM / LAC marine recovery portfolio in conjunction with the Global Marine Recovery leader.
· Clear and concise written / verbal communication with Insureds, Recovery Agents, TPAs, Brokers and Underwriters.
· Initiate and maintain regular contact with internal and external customers, including leading national Fortune 500 companies, to provide guidance to obtain possible recoveries and status updates on recovery matters.
· Responsible to assist in the continued growth of recovery activity within the NAM / LAC region and in the development & distribution of results and operational metrics across all Marine sub-lines of business.
· Liaise with Global Recovery Services Leadership to provide updates, reports and escalate / resolve issues with respect to all Marine recovery matters, including the Marine First Party Cargo Project.
· Responsible to regularly review, modify, revise and maintain appropriate Marine Recovery Best Practices, including facilitating NAM / LAC adjuster recovery process training, in conjunction with the Global Marine Recovery leader and in accordance with Global Recovery leadership.
· Co-ordinate and collaborate with other Regional Marine Recovery Leaders and Global Recovery leadership.
· Provide support and / or execute on special Marine Recovery and Salvage projects.
· Manage and maintain a caseload of complex, severe and high-profile marine recovery claims.
· Independently negotiate regional complex recovery claims, including attending mediations and trials as necessary.
· Reports to Global Marine Recovery Leadership.
What we’re looking for:
· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
· 10+ Years - Insurance Claim management experience, preferably in Marine Claims / Recovery
· Experience in the management of complex claim litigation and subrogation
