UI Health Cares Marketing and Communications department has an opening for a skilled
Marketing Content Specialist
to join the team. The role will serve in collaboration and support of UI Health Care marketing initiatives, producing clinically-focused content for internal and external audiences across multiple channels.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Develop communication strategies and produce content for external marketing and communications channels--web, social media, publications, multimedia, and marketing collateral--ensuring integration of content across different media
- Produce clinically focused, consumer-oriented content; identify, solicit, and follow up on stories including interviewing sources and following up on leads
- Develop clinically focused, consumer-oriented content for https://uihc. org/
- Perform editing, re-writing, and fact-checking duties for UI Health Care publications and high-profile communications projects
- Translate complex scientific and medical concepts into easily digestible content
- Collaborate with marketing and strategic communications colleagues to create communication and messaging strategies for key clinical areas
- Maintain strong relationships with doctors, researchers, nurses, administrators, and other UI Health Care stakeholders
- Assist with budget development for strategic communications projects
- Oversee and utilize freelancers assigned to producing clinical content
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum three years of professional experience in communications, journalism, or public relations.
- Understanding of content development for digital communications.
- Ability to write and edit content for a wide variety of communication materials--short news items, in-depth articles, web content, brochures, etc.
- Planning, organizing, monitoring, and managing projects to ensure efficient use of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Professional experience as a writer, copy editor, or another relevant role is preferred.
- Ability to manage and meet multiple deadlines.
- Must have a positive influence on others and be able to work effectively in a collaborative environment that expects and promotes teamwork.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience writing marketing-focused content
- Understanding of SEO and how to analytics to drive content decisions
- Familiarity with fast-paced environments.
- Efficient project management skills, including working on many projects.
- Proven communications consultative, planning, and execution abilities.
- Familiarity with graphic design, photography, and video production. Professional experience preferred.
- Creativity and imagination.
- Professional work experience in academics or health care.
- Ability to understand and effectively communicate complex information to various audiences.
- Must possess high personal motivation with a strong work ethic and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
