This position is primarily responsible for planning and directing all aspects of engineering activities. Ensures all engineering projects, initiatives and processes are in conformance with organizations policies and objectives by performing the following duties personally or though subordinates and/or supervisors.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Monitor the progress of all jobs in mechanical engineering.
Provide technical and administrative guidance to engineering project teams,
Develop department policies and procedures in accordance with Management goals.
Product improvement and standardization
Estimate engineering hours
Budget for materials
Reduce the number of engineering changes required due to rework and redesign
Reduce amount of warranty costs due to product design.
Directly supervise employees in the Mechanical Engineering Department.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
WHO YOU ARE
Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 5 to 10 years experience related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of Engineering Software (AutoCAD, ProE, Ariel Compressor program, Relief Valve software, etc.)
Knowledge of Database software; Development software; Design software; Internet software; Inventory software; Manufacturing software; Order Processing systems; Project Management software; and Spreadsheet software.
Familiar with all applicable codes and industry standards, including NFPA-52 & 70, (NEC), ASME BPV Section VIII and B31.3, ANSI, API-520 and 11P, UL NNNY, and ISO 13631.
Must be eligible to work in the United States of America.
