Pay range... $20.34 - $30.52 Medical Assistant Apprentice- Overlake Primary Care (January 2023) Overlake's Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Program is a great opportunity to join our clinical care team! We are starting recruitment for our January Cohort which will start the week of January 17th. We are delighted to offer this 12 month program that will prepare you to take the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) test through the National Health Career Association. The program trains students in the specific skills required to achieve the MA-C credential, as outlined in Washington RCW 18.360 and WAC 246-827. The program consists of 2000 hours of on-the-job training, 364 hours of online coursework, and scheduled in-person lab days for demonstration of skills. Participants will based at one of our primary care clinics around Bellevue, WA. As apprentices are deemed competent and checked off on individual proficiencies, they may provide patient care to assigned patients under direct supervision. Patient care is limited to intake and gathering of information without requiring the exercise of judgment based on clinical knowledge. Healthcare practitioner delegation and direction must be for functions within the scope of the medical assistant standards of practice. The medical assistant must be able to safely and competently perform the function. The medical assistant apprentice may not accept delegation of acts that are not within his or her scope of practice. Qualifications • Education: High school diploma or GED required. • Professional Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current CPR certification and First Aid training required. Evidence of completion of a Washington State DOH approved 7 hour HIV/Aids Training course also required. Continued employment is contingent upon obtaining Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) credential and the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) credential within three months of the completion of the program. • Experience: None required. • Special Training/Skills: Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English required. • Working Conditions: Exposure to and contact with soaps, sterilants, and body substances. • Exposure to a variety of noise levels, such as phones, intercoms, equipment and conversations.
