Job Summary:
Operate light (less than 26,000-lb. gross weight) trucks to transport packages, material, and personnel. Sort mail for delivery to UW and state buildings, and provide pick up and delivery of campus and US Postal Service mail as required. Work is performed under general supervision of the Building and Grounds Superintendent.

Responsibilities:
Operates institutional vehicles which transport packages, material, and/or personnel in a pick up and delivery capacity to support university transportation needs.
- 50% Picks up and delivers freight to and from internal and external affiliates as directed
- 35% Operates vehicles and other equipment; and navigates vehicular, pedestrian, and bicycle traffic in congested roadways, driveways, alleyways, and parking lots
- 5% Unloads, stages, inspects, and inventories freight to ensure accuracy and acceptable condition according to established rules and regulations
- 5% Inspects, maintains, and repairs vehicles daily based on established requirements
- 5% Identifies and reports damaged equipment and products to the appropriate entities
