JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Summary: The University of Wisconsin-Platteville, University Police Department is currently recruiting for a temporary part-time (30 hours per week/75% FTE) Parking Enforcement Officer to work during the 2023-2024 academic year (August through May). Work hours are generally Monday through Friday 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM, are subject to change and are flexible. The salary range is \$16.00-\$18.00 per hour depending on qualifications, and is not benefit eligible. This position will not exceed 1040 hours per year, and has possibility to renew for additional academic years. The incumbent will possess strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. They will also showcase their commitment to diversity by communicating and interacting effectively with a diverse community of individuals in a variety of situations. This position will require the incumbent to make appropriate, quick decisions, exercise good judgement, prioritize workload to manage multiple tasks, and possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy. Responsibilities Patrol UW-Platteville lots by foot or vehicle and issue citations to vehicles that violate UW-Platteville rules and regulations. Adhere to all state laws, University, and departmental rules, policies, and procedures. Inspect the condition of parking lots during daily patrols and note conditions that require maintenance or repair. Maintain and inspect required equipment daily, including vehicles assigned for parking enforcement, and arrange for service and repairs, as required. Provide motorist assistance (vehicle lockouts). Assist with front office tasks, including permit sales, answering phones, opening, and closing the office, as needed. Assist with and provide support for special event parking. Operate two-way radio to communicate with the front office and university police. Report problems, disturbances, suspicious persons, or activities to the police. Convey messages, correspondence, and transcribe notes into written reports. Maintain knowledge of departmental policies and procedures, rules and regulations, and other issued directives. Patrol UW-Platteville buildings and grounds by foot or other means. Provide Safe Walk escorts. Additional duties as assigned.
