Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is a Principal Project Management to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida.
Roles and Responsibilities:
The candidate will collaborate closely with Engineering and other key functional disciplines towards the goal of efficiently assessing and releasing engineering drawings in support of Production and Assembly of the Air Vehicle.
The candidate shall plan, prepare, issue and control production schedules and coordinate with Engineering, Manufacturing and Supply Chain to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements. In addition, candidate shall negotiate engineering drawing release schedules and manage production change incorporation plans to effectively mitigate assembly disruption.
The candidate shall advise management of the status of work in progress, material availability and potential production constraints to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided to support master production schedule, shop load and inventory requirements.

Support the manufacturing operations team by recommending/developing/re-engineering visibility reports or tools to translate information into graphs and charts
Develops optimized scheduling tools and aligns SAP/MRP systems with an executable plan given various capacity constraints
Possess analytical and problem-solving skills necessary for quickly developing recommendations based on quantitative and qualitative data from many different types of sources
Utilize various toolsets for data mining/data analysis
Analyzes lead times, queue times, work-in-process, cycle times, and throughput to meet customer demand most effectively and efficiently
Identify patterns and higher-level information from all the data sources through use of tools and application programming
Builds scalable and sustainable models to optimize product flow, while incorporating cost, schedule, and resource constraints
Explore/Develop new technologies or approaches to data mining and interpretation
Communicates requirements planning and systems framework with IT, ERP, business analytics, and data science teams
Drive the collection of new data and the refinement of existing data sources
Creates new metrics and data visualizations to monitor shop floor performance
Draw conclusions based on data findings and relay actionable recommendations to leadership
Provide support to the manufacturing floor by working proactively with cross-functional teams to understand frontline problems and implement cost-saving solutions.
Utilize various Continuous Improvement tools to analyze shop floor practices and processes for opportunities to minimize scrap, reduce cost, increase capacity and optimize schedule.
Work with frontline leadership to assess current state reality and define future state possibilities
Provide tactics and training to frontline leaders and shop floor personnel to improve the current state and facilitate value generation
Conduct studies and generate metrics pertaining to efficiency, cycle times, work-in-progress, manpower, cost performance, and product delivery.
Partner with manufacturing management to develop and track recovery plans that instill confidence within program management and customers
Apply systems thinking in the development of metrics to improve product flow from the release of raw materials through product delivery.
Provide capacity planning, rate tool analyses, and facility layouts to ensure the ongoing success of composite operations.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree with 6 years of experience OR Master’s Degree with 4 years of experience in Global Supply Chain, Project Management, Program Integration, or Business Management
Experience in analyzing large quantities of data to determine KPIs/performance metric reporting and analysis
Must be proficient in MS Office suite – Excel, SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio
Experience using a data analytics visualization software package (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Lumira).
Current and active DoD Secret clearance (last investigation completed within last six years).
Ability to obtain Special Program Access within a reasonable amount of time as required by the business
Preferred Qualifications:
Active Special Program Access
Prior experience working with complex databases SAP, Oracle, SQL relational etc
Experience in or knowledge of a manufacturing environment
Experience working with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing or business environment
At least 1 year of demonstrated experience leading project teams
Experience with shop floor control systems
Experience/certifications in lean/process improvement
Experience with manpower planning.
Experience interfacing with suppliers and leadership.
Experience with schedule creation and briefing
Salary Range: $74,600.00 - $111,800.00
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
