The Azure Gaming Services (AGS) team is looking for an experienced technical Product Manager that is passionate about the end-to-end developer experience. Our mission in AGS is to empower game creators to realize their dreams. Achieving this requires that developers have access to scalable and reliable services that are easy to integrate and allow them to deliver their game to any player on any platform.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong product, technology & program management background. Your main area of focus will be in the multiplayer services space – specifically in the area of game networking and player communications. You will help drive the strategy and execution of product delivery for solutions to deliver low latency secure networking, clear and accessible voice and text player communications, as well as how these components work seamlessly with other multiplayer and Azure service components. In this role you will be responsible for defining and delivering integrated experiences and products for game developers across every platform in every region of the world. You will work with internal engineers and subject matter experts to understand the end-to-end scenarios typically faced by our customers, design solutions and play a central role in bringing more games and game developers to the Microsoft platform. You will build a deep understanding of the experience of our developers today, identify gaps and opportunities, then define and execute on improvements to those experiences. You will design systems in collaboration with engineering teams that operate efficiently and at scale, catering to the needs of customers ranging from small independent developers to AAA titles.
Build and execute the product plan and roadmap from where our customers are today, to the realization of our vision with clear metrics for success
Drive product research that analyzes our customers’ needs to inform development of your products and features
Directly drive project and technical program management needs from start to finish for your product areas
Collaborate closely with Azure Gaming Vertical business, marketing, and sales teams to identify opportunities and ensure your products fulfill the organization’s business objectives
Proactively reach out to internal and external customers and partners to collect user stories, requirements, and feedback and convert them to product visions and plans
Work with top-tier and passionate engineering, product, and technical program management teams to provide customer insights, product direction, inspiration, and project execution and release
Develop a deep understanding of technologies within your product areas
Drive discussions with engineering teams, asking the right technical questions to explore solutions that bring value to our customers
Work with management to establish business processes and policies
Own product metrics, indicators for success and reporting such as OKRs, executive reviews, and use them to provide strategic product communication to management and key stakeholders across the org to lead, support, influence and monitor the success of new business initiatives
Work across Gaming, Microsoft, and external partners to deliver end-to-end integrated solutions
Be customer obsessed in everything you do while also delivering on our key business objectives
Be an active member of an organization that contributes to the success of others and provides ample opportunity for personal growth and learning
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science, or related industry experience
3+ years of experience in program management, product management or a related discipline
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly and positively both directly with customers and with fellow team members.
Prior experience designing and developing services (using Azure, AWS, GCP) at scale
Experience working on gaming platforms: Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, Steam, Unreal, Unity
Experience in secure networking and/or voice and text communications
Track record of making solid business and engineering tradeoffs to deliver business value
