We are currently seeking an experienced Optical Lab Supervisor 1 for our well established Brooklyn Park location. This is an excellent opportunity to join our team!
$1000 Hiring Bonus: A $500 Bonus will be paid out to you after 6 months of employment and an additional $500 Bonus will be paid to you after 9 months of employment (if continued employment in an evening, night, or weekend shift).
Starting pay from $21.35 hourly
Hours: 3rd Shift, Monday - Friday, 11:00 pm to 7:00 am
Job Summary
Supervise employees and manage to a high level of efficiency in the manufacturing area of the ophthalmic departments. Manage and report on team metrics The Supervisor is also responsible for providing communication and coaching to all teammates, and for creating and sustaining a healthy team environment.
Position Specifics:
Working knowledge of all aspects within the manufacturing area.
Monitor and evaluate productivity through team and individual metrics.
Actively participate and engage in continuous improvement processes such as our Four Disciplines of Execution (4DX) program.
Effectively communicate company policies and procedures to team.
Manage and coach employees and assure timely performance reviews and proper documentation of performance issues.
Maintain production records as well as machine maintenance records and charting.
Communicate with offsite vendors in trouble shooting office and lab machine errors.
Responsible for effective scheduling of vacation hours commensurate with the needs of the branch, with consideration of seasonality workloads.

Maintain close association with accounts, both internal and external..
Prolonged standing required
Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience/Qualifications
High School diploma, GED or equivalent and Four (4) years of optical laboratory environment or experience commensurate with department functions.
Must be able to perform to high levels of competency all aspects of lab manufacturing.
Good interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
Excellent leadership skills; with ability to maintain an even workflow and a motivating work environment.
Keyboard and PC skills required; specifically Digital Vision Inc. (DVI) optical manufacturing software.
Mechanical aptitude and lensometer experience a must.
Prior Supervisory experience a plus.
