Job Description

We now need a Program Manager, K-8 Math Learning Quality to join our Education Institute team.

The Education Institute is our engine for reimagining public education within our schools and far beyond, and brings together a powerful K-12 focus across content and design, implementation, and instructional development.

As a critical member of our Education Institute department reporting to the Leader, K-8 Learning Quality, the Program Manager, K-8 Math Learning Quality will be an innovative, results-driven leader who brings a deep understanding of math education and is passionate about cultivating communities of mathematics teachers and learners that foster curiosity, autonomy, and sophisticated thinking. This is an exciting opportunity to work with teachers and school leaders, as well as district-level administrators and content creators to transform the daily experiences of tens of thousands of students throughout the network.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Promulgating and continuously refining Success Academys standard for excellent learning in K-8 math classes

  • Designing and building materials that capture and explain what excellent learning in K-8 math classes looks like;

  • Engaging in lesson observation, data analysis, and work study to identify and illustrate precise opportunities for improving our K-8 math program;

  • Designing and implementing strategic initiatives to support teachers and school leaders with improving the quality of learning in K-8 mathematics classrooms

  • Leading collaborative training sessions to further develop teacher and school leader understanding of the K-8 math vision and curriculum;

  • Identifying talent within and outside of the organization in order to elicit, understand, and leverage the perspectives and experiences of scholars, teachers, and leaders;

  • Working closely with colleagues in other content areas and on our elementary and middle school teams to facilitate innovation and ensure K-12 alignment;

  • Supporting key cross-functional Education Institute initiatives.

A successful candidate will have the following skills, characteristics, and qualifications:

  • A degree and/or substantial coursework or professional experience in mathematics or mathematics education;

  • Superior knowledge and conceptual understanding of math content, specifically in Grade 5 through Algebra I (for exle, explain how and why division is related to rates);

  • At least 7 years of experience in education. Experience in teaching and educational leadership strongly preferred;

  • At least two years of experience managing others to get outcomes;

  • A demonstrated ability to design and lead projects that produce strong learning outcomes from both adults and children;

  • A demonstrated ability to affect change in others beliefs and actions;

  • Strong attention to detail;

  • Strong communication skills;

  • Strong work ethic and ability to work flexibly.
