Our client, a top health + fitness brand, is looking for a Part-Time Proofreader for a 3+ month assignment to join their team. This position is fully remote and 20 hours a week.
This role will be proofreading digital and print materials, supporting the creative team in getting projects out the door in a timely manner without errors. This person will also be reviewing projects through a design lens as well, and spotting incorrect or inconsistent elements.
Proofreading includes but is not limited: accuracy of spelling, grammar and punctuation; accuracy of references and data; adherence to company style and brand guidelines; correct usage of logos and branding elements; and occasional copy editing.
5+ years of professional copyediting/proofreading experience
Extremely detail oriented and works quickly
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Docs, Adobe Acrobat, Outlook; comfortable with and adaptable to any CMS; must be tech-savvy
Proofread copywriting and design projects, including hard copy documents, PDFs, emails, web pages and various types of creative collateral
Ensure all stakeholder, legal and copy review edits have been addressed
Provide final sign-off on projects at final release to ensure accuracy
Maintain strict adherence to marketing/production deadlines
Can identify resources (internet, reference materials, etc.) to resolve queries
Extremely organized with an ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and simultaneously handle multiple projects with total accuracy and attention to detail
Strong understanding of English language, grammar, and written word, including basic copywriting principles and skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Highly motivated self-starter with a can-do attitude
Copy editing and/or copywriting experience
Portfolio of proofreading samples
