About the role:
Join Takeda as a Regional Category Manager where you will work on the Oncology Department Procurement Team. The Regional Category Manager (RCM) – Tier 2 supports the category programs of a clearly defined region and implements regional category strategies for market facing spend categories as part of the wider Category Strategy. Support region-specific supplier performance and progress activities related to operations.
How you will contribute:
Provide regional category support to global category team on related to inputs on priorities, and setting process and oversee delivering regional targets following engagement in the target setting process.
Develop and implement a pipeline of regional category plans and opportunities along with Global Category on (Savings / Productivity / Risk Management / Innovation) using external supply market / business intelligence, application of benchmarking methodologies and internal partner knowledge. This may include management and coordination of specialist suppliers on market intelligence data.
Contribute to the development of the Annual Category Plan based on the regional category strategy, business planning activities and regional category pipeline and ensure these are staffed and completed following the targeted goals. This will involve providing oversight, support and coaching to any allocated project managers in the deployment of projects.
Work with the required activities or other areas within Procurement and BUS (e.g. Process & Systems) to support programs to deliver spend accuracy in the covered sub-category area following agreed goals.
Ensure supplier Performance and Innovation (SP&I), supported by members of the SP&I team: Contribute to the category supplier segmentation to identify important supplier relationships within the region, with whom regular business supported reviews will be undertaken to at a minimum ensure delivery to expectations; and target value over and above the contracted value with areas such as Innovations; Determine and implement Measurements graded by level of segmentation and associated supplier performance review schedules; Oversee reporting of supplier performance against goals;
Develop relationships with partners relating to regional category accountabilities, Takeda's Procurement Groups and General / Administrative departments such as Finance, IS, HR, Legal, Privacy, Compliance to ensure appropriate inputs to sourcing strategies and implementation plans; Support the global development and standardization of core category management infrastructure (Processes / Tools) and encourage adoption in the region to improve procurement performance and compliance
Administration: Follow the defined process to ensure contracts developed in the region are implemented at a regional and local level including both terms and conditions and approval procedures; Ensure annual operating activities are undertaken within the allocated budget and provide reporting to the Global Category Lead.
Travel (air and ground throughout the region) for multiple meetings at Takeda and Supplier sites.
International travel may be required.
Degree level educated
4+ years in-depth strategic and operational procurement experience with a solid working knowledge and P2P experience.
4+ years overall business experience, including working within a regulated industry
Experience managing project teams to create material value across multiple categories
Experience in managing category management projects and development of sourcing strategies
Change management and process improvement experience with direct experience in delivering business process change
Knowledgeable in offshore operating environments e.g. Captive, Build Operate Transfer, Managed Service, Functional & Full Service concepts
Expert proficiency in basic MS Office© software and other business systems (Ariba, Emptoris Mpower, SAP etc.)
