The 7thfloor is a 23-bed surgical unit. The patient population consists of post-operative surgeries that do not require telemetry. Typical surgeries that we take include hip/knee replacements, spine and other orthopedic surgeries, bariatrics, hysterectomies, and general surgeries. Trauma patients come to our unit as well. We are a service center for excellence for both orthopedics and bariatrics. We have an excellent rapid recovery program for joint replacement patients, and most go home the day after surgery. Surgical experience is preferred but new graduates are welcome as well. Our staff love the ability to have a flexible schedule and be able to self-schedule their preferred days to work. We have great teamwork on our unit and look forward to you joining our team.
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
BSN preferred.
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
