The Position

About the position:

The Regulatory Program Administrator administers the program policy and operations of business regulatory programs. These programs include amusement device permits, pay and park facilities, payday lenders, secondhand dealers, and social games. This position is expected to carry out their individual responsibilities with initiative, independence and creativity, while exercising sound problem solving skills and professional judgment.

The Regulatory Program Administrator will:

  • Serve as the main contact for all regulatory programs administered by the Revenue Division.

  • Write and implement program policy and recommend code revisions to City Council.

  • Lead and perform enforcement actions

  • Coordinate program activities with various government agencies, and testifying on State legislation.

  • Enter data, run reports, issue permits, perform inspections of facilities, collect fees for regulatory programs and conduct background investigations related to regulatory programs.

About the Bureau of Revenue and Financial Services:

The Bureau of Revenue and Financial Services (BRFS) is overseen by the City's Chief Financial Officer and provides centralized financial services, revenue collection, business regulation, financial reporting and compliance to all City bureaus. BRFS is an organization of 170 employees with an annual operating budget of $77 million, and includes the seven divisions of Accounting, Debt Management, Grants Management, Procurement Services, Revenue, Risk, and Treasury. Work Location

Currently, many positions with the City of Portland are being performed as a remote/onsite mix. In the future, these positions: 1) may remain as a remote/onsite mix or 2) revert to full-time at a city work location.

To Qualify
