Assist the Director of Risk Programs in the management, monitoring and facilitation of exams, inspections and audits. Acting as a liaison between auditors/examiners and the business lines to ensure timely, accurate and complete responses and developing reporting for Senior and Executive Management on audit/exam status and results.
Create and maintain current annual schedule for all exam sources.
Monitor status and provide oversight of all internal and external examinations.
Review examination handbooks, previous exam feedback and recently related internally identified issues with impacted business line contacts to prepare for pending exam.
Provide information and guidance regarding the exam process to business line contacts assigned to each audit/exam.
Review available plan information (request/announcement letters, scope letters, etc.) to assess the impact for the exam on the business line(s).
Coordinate with key business line contacts and subject matter experts to ensure timely, accurate and complete response to audit/exam requests and potential issues.
Produce weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting summarizing exam activities.
Communicate relevant issues and scope information across business lines as appropriate.
Partner with business lines to evaluate the validity of potential issues and provide guidance on the development of management responses and issue remediation plans.
Track observations and verbal recommendations for process or control design improvements during the exam.
Share observations and verbal recommendations from each exam with all relevant business line leaders.
Maintain working relationships with all relevant audit/exam teams and business contacts to share information about audit/exam plan developments and emerging risks.
Minimum of 3-5 years of internal/external audit or regulatory experience preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Business-related field required; relevant graduate degree a plus
Experience in auditing and project management or similar background; prefer experience in the financial services industry preferably with TCB or at large or regional banks
Specific knowledge of risk management frameworks, audit risk assessments, corporate governance, process improvement, project management, bank operations, products and services, and/or regulatory requirements preferred
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to establish positive working relationships throughout the organization and with audit/exam constituents
Results-oriented working in a team-focused, collaborative environment
Certification in audit, risk, project management or compliance preferred
Demonstrated ability in communicating effectively, both verbally and written
Ability to work independently and coordinate the work of others
Effectively respond to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Well organized and detail-oriented to handle diverse and concurrent assignments
Strong Microsoft application knowledge (Project, Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and aptitude for grasping and using various bank software applications
